About the game

In development — not yet released. Planned for Windows and macOS. Price and release date have not been announced. The screenshots and trailer below show the current development build.

Dinner is ready. Unfortunately, so are the uninvited guests. In Ew! A Bug!, protect your meal from an increasingly ridiculous insect invasion in a colorful, low-poly arcade game. Aim from a fixed viewpoint, chase a bigger combo, and try to leave something on the table worth eating.

Eight ways to ruin a bug’s evening

Start with a fly swatter, then reach for a slipper, boxing glove, baseball bat, submachine gun, bug spray, Gatling gun or cannon. Each weapon has its own rhythm. Your dinner and crockery can take a hit too, so a spectacular clear-out may come with a messy table.

These bugs brought equipment

Flies, mosquitoes and cockroaches are only the beginning. Chase racing cockroaches, mosquito pilots and rocket-riding flies. A nuclear crisis turns the swarm into larger, faster mutations. Keep landing hits to build a combo as the room gets busier.

Four ways to defend dinner

  • Campaign: 100 stages with rising kill targets and weapons that unlock as you progress.
  • Score attack: three minutes to rack up as many kills as you can.
  • Endless: survive the growing swarm and beat your personal records.
  • Endless roguelite: survive ten minutes in regular Endless to unlock a tougher mode with a choice of upgrades during each run.

Save the meal. Earn the gold.

Each run serves four different dishes and one drink, randomly selected from 15 dishes and three drinks. Finish with a dish untouched by contamination and damage to earn its protection achievement. Collect these achievements to unlock golden weapon skins, then pursue combo, campaign, score and lifetime-kill milestones.

Built for single-player, offline play with mouse and keyboard. English and Simplified Chinese are supported. Progress, achievements and personal records are stored locally.
